Memorial Day Parade and Mass that honors the deceased members of the Chicago Fire Department (CFD) and Chicago Firemen’s American Legion Post #667. The ceremonies begin at 9:30am at Saint Ignatius College Prep with a parade of the uniformed members of the Chicago Fire Department led by The Pipes and Drums of the CFD. Mass in Church of the Holy Family follows at 10:00am.

On Thursday, July 31 at 11 a.m., on the feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola, Burtram “Bud” Collver Hopkins, II, great-great-grandnephew of John Mills Van Osdel, will present an original oil painting of his architect relative who was commissioned in 1859 by Rev. Arnold Damen, S.J., “to furnish plans and specifications” for the interior of the massive Victorian Gothic church. All are invited to attend the book signing and luncheon immediately following.
